The Lightworker's Burden: Trying to Save People Who Don't Want Saving

To the Lightworker who is exhausted from carrying everyone else - I need you to hear this - not everybody wants to leave the Underworld. 🖤🥀

I know that sounds harsh, but it is one of the hardest lessons I have had to learn in my own healing journey and one of the deepest things I witness with my clients.

Because many of us who came into this lifetime with big hearts and deep compassion didn't just learn how to love people. You learned how to save them, fix them and be with them with their pain. You see the light in them when nobody else could - it is second nature for you. You learn how to sit in the darkness with them - you are really good at it. You know the dark like the back of your hand... and it has become.. your friend. 🖤🥀

But somewhere along the way, you made an unconscious decision that if somebody you loved was suffering, you had to go into the darkness with them. You would stay there with them, so they weren't alone....until they found their way out.

But eventually? That cost to you.. takes it's toll. 🥀

And that toll reaches it's tolerance point. It breaks you more than them. And ultimately? They are so wrapped up in their own pain - they do not even see you sitting there by their side awaiting their conscious return - the whole time.

The reality is - some people are just not ready. And when you can release the hope they might wake up in this lifetime and instead understand that in some people's lifetime - their entire life in this lifetime - is not the lifetime they 'wake up' - you set yourself free. 🕊️

Whilst people say they are choosing familiar pain over unknown freedom or they are choosing to stay in the suffering because it is comfortable and feels safer than change even though they might complain about where they are - I say they are simply unconscious and have not found the right support system to sustain, carry and heal them. And yet - there is a catch with that. 

They have to be ready for the change themselves. It has to come from deep down inside of them. Because as soon as that internal shift occurs, even that 1% willingness.. the Universe swoops in with the right support at the right time. When the student is ready - the teacher appears. 

And yet, awaiting them to shift... that is not your burden to carry. It will drain and exhaust you more than them, it will take years off your life... let alone suck the light out of you. You have to let go - so they can find and connect to their own light. You're not the source of light for them. 

And you staying in that place being the source of that light for them - is only because you are scared to step fully, authentically into your own light and be the beacon for those are ready to rise with you - not drain the life force out of you. 

I see so many powerful women (and men), healers and lightworkers who have spent years trying to save wounded partners, wounded family members, wounded friends, wounded clients.

Years. Decades sometimes.

There is nothing wrong with you for wanting that for them. You love them deeply, you care for them more than you care for yourself. But.. what you're really tapping into - is their potential. Not the reality of what you're experiencing with them right now.

And at this point of wake up - for you - your soul stars asking a different question - "What is this costing you? How much of your own life have you put on hold trying to rescue someone who is refusing to rescue themselves? How much joy have you sacrificed? How much peace? How much abundance? How much love? How much of yourself?"

What you are awakening to right now is that this lesson is no longer about helping them. The lesson is about choosing you. And that can feel like grief... loss... and betrayal. You wonder why you stayed so long... the grief you feel.. it feels like you're leaving them behind, like you're abandoning them.. and ultimately? You are. But that pain stings the most, because you realise for how long.. and for nothing - you abandoned yourself - The. Entire. Time.

This is where I see so many lightworkers get stuck. You will feel like you have stopped caring..but what has actually happened is that you've released the role that was holding it all together...for them... and for you. You simply can't anymore. That feeling is detachment from the role. That... has now set you... adrift. Let the ocean current take you for a time... let it lead you to the white sandy shores of your new destination for your new journey - without the burdens you've been holding from your past... and from everyone else's.

You're not selfish for finally wanting to walk in the light. Your Soul isn't from the Underworld. It wasn't your intention to stay there forever and if you're reading this.. it's just time to come out. You were always meant to journey through it... for in the light, you can help more people with the wisdom you've gained from walking that far that long in the dark.. you have eyes that see the dark in the light and the skills to hold the light in the face of the dark that... loves them until they weep...

I know for me, one of the hardest things I've ever had to learn is that I cannot save people from a place they are choosing to remain in. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink. I can show you all the tools, you can purchase them... but you have to walk through them. I cannot force you to learn something you have to pick up the bucket and drink it yourself to feel that sensation of the water running through your own body.

If you've been feeling like you just can't anymore... you're shifting.. you have shifted and that is why you can't anymore.. because there is a new frequency awaiting your conscious return.

You do not have to stay in the underworld with people who refuse to leave. You are allowed to choose the light, choose yourself and choose your life. Even if for a time, you have no idea what that looks like, because I guarantee, when you've been in the dark for a while.. navigating with light everywhere not familiar dark, is a recalibration. But once your sea legs adjust, you'll be the captain of an entirely new boat that never lost sight of the shore - because it was always the anchor to your Soul that never left you the entire time.. it was just your unconsciousness to it that went dark, that's all.

When you set yourself free... reality mirrors you. And you'll wonder why you never did it sooner. 

It's just.. time.
